APEGGA Continuing Professional Development

APEGGA Membership is a requirement for practising Geology in Alberta.
Meeting the Professional Development Requirements is an obligation of APEGGA Membership.

Basic requirements:
6 categories of activity are identified
A Geologist must be active in a minimum of 3 categories
A rolling average of 80 PDH (Professional Development Hours) per year is expected.
240 PDH over a three year cycle.
Excess PDH can be carried over for up to 2 years.
Reductions for Unemployment, sickness or full-time students have to be requested in writing.
Geologists can copy the table below to keep track of their PDHs on an annual basis.
